Teasing the 4Runner with a Strip

With Memorial Day coming up we decided to try and get out of California for a bit and take the 4Runner out to play.

We settled on the chunk of land that sits between St George, Utah and that giant hole known as the Grand Canyon.

This area is known as the Arizona Strip, and as you might expect it is in Arizona.

There are a few ranches in the area and a couple of historic land marks, but otherwise this area is pretty much free of people.

The terrain is fairly mild, although there were a couple of spots where we wouldn’t want to have anything less.  The scenery is far from mild, and this is an absolutely amazing area that I can’t wait to get back to.

That might have to wait a while though. When I picked the truck it had new tires on it, unfortunately it was the typical used car lot type of new tires.  As a result we came back on 3 newish Remington tires and one spare.  The 4th Remington had broken a belt on the trail.  In addition to the broken tire, the all original suspension was suddenly feeling a little floaty.

Yes even coming home with some damage couldn’t ruin this trip, absolutely worth it.
