Turkey Day On The Lost Coast

WARNING:  THIS SET HAS BEEN COPIED FROM MY PHOTOGRAPHY PAGE AND MAY NOT WORK ENTIRELY YET.

Near the end of day two finally on the Lost Coast just off Mattole Rd.

The original idea was to make the Lost Coast a quick stop on a longer trip that would end further north, but time constraints caused some changes. We ended up doing a quicker 3 day trip and taking in a quick sampling of the area.

A look inside the The Battery Mendell. Its a shame the state can't afford to keep it in better shape and keep some guns in place. It would be really interesting to get to see it closer to its prime.

Just because we couldn't get to the lighthouse itself doesn't mean that Point Reyes doesn't offer some great views.

The weather was starting to get a little rough on day. After a night in Eureka, we headed back down Mattole Rd to finish the loop we started on day 2.

The rain was starting to get bad through here. While I didn't mind so much, keeping the lens clear was beginning to be a problem.

I wish it would have been a calmer day, I would have loved to go grab the macro lens and see if I could get a better shot of this um creature.

A look back at the way I got here. Hiking down the rocks wasn't bad, doing it with two cameras in the rain though was a bit more challenging.

The shot that got me wet above knee level. As luck would have it, the rain would pick up moments later to even out my saturation level.
