Those Are Some Wild Peaks You Got There

We are getting ready to move north by a few hundred miles and my BFG’s are looking pretty worn.  Before  I lose my garage space, and for the 4Runner to tow a countless number of trailers, I figured a new set up tires is probably a good thing.  I debated about going back to the All Terrains or going with Falken’s newest offering.  I’ve had good luck in the past with Falken 451/452 and the Azenis, on some of my cars, so why not give these a try.

You of course can’t buy new tires and not test them to see what you have.  We headed back up to the Big Bear, Ca area and hit up Heartbreak Ridge once again to see how they compared.

The Falken’s actually performed pretty well. We weren’t aired down (like usual for me) but they climbed over pretty much everything that the BFG’s did previously. We also tested out the sway bar disconnects, so it wasn’t quite a fair test, but I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Wild Peaks/Rocky Mountains based on what we drove through today. The photos don’t show the harder parts as usual, but for those that know the area it’s a decent test of their abilities.  Obviously it was a bit wet, a bit rainy, and had plenty of loose dirt from several other vehicles over the weekend.
