5th Annual Cars Expo at the Santa Clara Convention Center

It was a bit last minute but I received a message (under Bay Area Auto Scene) from one of the organizers for this show asking to help promote that they were looking to fill out the “import side” of the show a bit more.  I offered to repost there info as well as to bring out the Corolla to show.

The shop was a disaster so it was going to just be nice to send the AE86 off on a sleep over at the convention center just to give me a chance to clean!

For anyone that has no idea what this show is, there are quite a few vendors and a lot of customs, and hot rods, with a hand full of race cars and imports mixed it.  The vendors on hand range from some of the aftermarket favorites like Redline oil or Holley to some of the unexpected replacement part manufactures like Gates or similar.

I wasn’t sure what to expect bringing an “import” to a mostly domestic show, but honestly once the hood was up and the cars rear wheel drive ism was apparent to the muscle car guys it got some looks from people I may not have other wised expected.

Bringing home a “Best Import” trophy was of course a nice added bonus.

The Hachi is getting some new parts so it will be ready for the drive down to Long Beach for Toyota Fest so there will be a few updates here shortly.  In the meantime, here’s a bit more from the Cars Expo:
