Are You On Linked In?

Some of you might remember the quick disconnect end links I made for the front a while back.  Well it was time to get back on the lathe again and make some new ones for the front and some for the rear.  The new ones for the front are to get rid of the quick disconnect portion.  It’s not worked as well as I had hopped it would, and finding pins strong enough to hold it connected have proved to be tough.

I did try another quick disconnect design, but I wasn’t happy with it, and at this point I’m just going to say spend a few minutes to just unbolt the things and bolt them back up when you get back to the road.  The difference in disconnect time isn’t worth the compromise in design.

The finished rear link.  The rear is limited in length because of the position of the control arm.  You can do some correction for the offset of the sway bar created with a lift, but not all of it.

I did end up re-using one piece of hardware from the original rear link. There is a centering washer that has to be carried over.

It’s nice to have some problem free links again!
